UM Health-Sparrow Forensic Pathology issues annual death report for 2023
LANSING, Mich. – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Forensic Pathology Services has released its annual report on deaths investigated in 2023 for the seven counties in which UM Health-Sparrow serves as medical examiner.
While the majority of the deaths investigated in 2023 were ruled natural, many others died from falls, car crashes and accidental overdoses. The report, and other forensic pathology findings, can be found at UofMHealthSparrow.org/OMEReports.

As the office of the medical examiner for the seven counties (Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, Isabella, Livingston, and Shiawassee), UM Health-Sparrow is nationally accredited by the National Association of Medical Examiners to perform autopsies, postmortem examinations, and on-scene forensic death investigations as an important part of the investigation process.
