Wednesday, December 11th, Jeffrey Mosher was on the road to the corner of Pennsylvania and E. Michigan Avenues in Lansing, Michigan, and officials connected with UM Health-Sparrow were on hand to share about plans to remodel a former Rite Aid Pharmacy, which was across the street from the hospital into a multi-service facility for the healthcare system.
According to UM Health-Sparrow official's advisory, they are set to transform former Rite Aid store into Pharmacy and Urgent Care.

University of Michigan Health-Sparrow is moving forward with plans to lease a former Rite Aid store in Lansing to enhance access to pharmacy, urgent care and occupational health services. The move will help address the growing pharmacy desert in the Lansing area. Located at the corner of E. Michigan Avenue and Pennsylvania, directly across from UM Health-Sparrow Lansing, the renovated space will ensure patients maintain access to critical medications and urgent health care services close to home. The Rite Aid closed earlier this year along with nearly 200 other retail pharmacies. UM Health-Sparrow leaders will outline plans for the new site and highlight how other Pharmacy Plus locations across Mid-Michigan have stepped up to support community members in need. Interviews available with UM Health-Sparrow leaders, along with b-roll of the former Rite Aid store.
