U of M Innovation Partnerships is pleased to share with you this year’s annual impact report, where we showcase the success of the university’s research commercialization efforts during Fiscal Year 2022 and provide you with an overview of Innovation Partnerships’ mission and services.
The University of Michigan had another successful year with 433 new invention disclosures received, 278 new licenses and options executed, and 16 new startup companies launched. Our new corporate research alliances team also supported the creation of new research awards totaling over $37M - a significant contribution to the university’s total of $220M in new corporate research awards. Another notable metric is the $760M raised by U-M startups through investments, mergers and acquisitions and IPOs.
At Innovation Partnerships we are honored to be able to support the U-M community of innovators in their work to ensure that the results of their research and scholarly activities positively impact society. We value our role in serving that community and building on the University of Michigan’s legacy of successful technology commercialization as we continue to redefine how world-class university research can fuel a region and solve the world’s greatest challenges.
