LANSING, Mich. — To recognize the braille reading system’s impact on individuals who are blind or visually impaired and to call attention to the invaluable services and resources that enable Michiganders to learn and enhance their reading skills, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has proclaimed January as Braille Literacy Month in Michigan.
Michigan’s Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA) offices will be closed Jan. 16, 2023, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Unemployed workers can still certify for benefits on those days using the Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM). Certification by phone will not be available when state offices are closed.
LANSING, Mich.—To further support mental health and well-being for more Michiganders, the state of Michigan launched Michigan.gov/WorkplaceMentalHealth, a centralized workplace mental health hub to share resources and strategies aimed at helping employees and employers across the state address mental health in the workplace.
