DETROIT, MI – U.S. Senators Gary Peters (MI) and Debbie Stabenow (MI) announced that the Clinton Area Ambulance Service Authority and Meridian Township Fire Department will receive federal funding to improve operations and safety. Clinton Area Ambulance Service Authority will receive $112,454 for new ambulance load systems, and the Meridian Township Fire Department will receive $43,819. This funding comes from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program.

GRAND RAPIDS – U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow (MI) and Gary Peters (MI) today announced that the Grand Rapids Fire Department will receive $284,322 and the Benton Harbor Fire Department will receive $23,809 in federal funding for fire prevention and safety. DETROIT, MI – U.S. Senators Gary Peters (MI) and Debbie Stabenow (MI) and U.S. Representative Dan Kildee (MI-05) urged the U.S. Air Force to take more significant steps to address PFAS contamination in Van Etten Lake near the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base. The legislation will improve government transparency by requiring federal agencies to publish easily understandable justifications for their budget requests on a single, central website each year. Congressional budget justifications are plain-language explanations of how agencies propose to spend money that they request from Congressional appropriators. The materials would also be posted on each agency’s website. The bill passed the Senate in June and now heads to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
