New Community Transformation Fund hires Harvard grad Ollie Howie after national search 

(GRAND RAPIDS, MI) – New Community Transformation Fund (NCTF), a Grand Rapids-based venture fund aimed at boosting businesses owned by people of color in West Michigan, announces it has hired Ollie Howie to become the fund’s first managing director. He comes to Grand Rapids after deploying over $50 million into the venture ecosystem through this career. Most recently he was investing in a SoftBank venture fund dedicated to building and supporting a community of outstanding Black, Latinx and Native American founders.

Stabenow, Grassley Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Support Foster Youth During the COVID-19 Crisis

WASHINGTON— U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) today introduced a bipartisan bill to support teenagers and young adults in the foster care system during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Continued State Flexibility to Assist Older Foster Youth Act will help these young adults pay for college or job training programs, in addition to housing, driving, and transportation costs.
