LANSING, Mich. -- Thursday, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced that insurers representing 100% of the fully insured health insurance market in Michigan have agreed to maintain no-cost preventive healthcare services despite a Texas federal judge’s decision in Braidwood Management. Inc. v. Becerra that struck down that requirement under the Affordable Care Act.
Sparrow easing masking requirements as COVID cases continue to decline
LANSING, MI – Sparrow is revising its requirements for wearing face masks on the heels of the continual decrease in COVID cases, high levels of immunity, and the availability of effective treatments.
Effective immediately, caregivers, patients, and visitors will no longer be required to wear a mask in public areas of our facilities, including hallways, cafeterias, and most waiting areas, in alignment with Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) standards.

Michigan’s Tri-Share program makes child care more affordable, accessible by splitting cost between parents, employer, and the state
HEMLOCK, Mich. — Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced Hemlock Semiconductor (HSC) as the newest Michigan employer to participate in MI Tri-Share, the state’s innovative cost-sharing program offering working parents access to child care at a third of the cost. To date, 139 employers are participating and parents save an average of $464 a month, or $5,568 a year.
