Coalitions Bring Together Economic Development Organizations and Early Childhood Leaders to Strengthen Local Investment and Strategy Around Child Care Access 

LANSING, Mich. – As part of Michigan’s ongoing efforts to build and sustain local opportunities to respond to child care needs, the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) today released a report from Regional Child Care Coalitions, groups of community leaders, child care providers, and economic development organizations that are collaborating to tackle child care challenges at the local level.

Adults Ages 21-24 Must Submit Applications by Dec. 31, 2024, to Join 30,000 Others Accepted Through the Temporary Program Expansion 

LANSING, Mich. – Ahead of the December 31 deadline, the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) is issuing a final call for Michiganders ages 21 to 24 to apply for Michigan Reconnect, the largest effort in state history designed to help adult learners without a college degree earn a tuition-free degree or skills certificate at their local community or Tribal college.

IONIA, MI – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Ionia has been redesignated as a Level IV Trauma Center, reflecting the level of expertise in providing crucial care to patients in the emergency department.

The designation from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is valid through August 2027.
