Legislature Strengthens School Safety and Mental Health Funding

LANSING, MI —The Michigan Alliance for Student Opportunity (MASO), the Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators (MASA), the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators (MAISA), the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP), and the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA) applaud the Michigan House and Senate for passing a School Aid Fund Supplemental, which restores critical investments in school safety and mental health resources for students across the state.

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate edged up by one-tenth of a percentage point over the month to 4.5 percent during August, according to data released today by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget. Employment declined by 12,000 over the month, while unemployment increased by 5,000, resulting in a workforce reduction of 7,000 during August.

DETROIT - Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K) Detroit, is once again calling on the public to donate used bicycles on Saturday, September 28 from 9am to 1pm at 25 Meijer stores across Southeast Michigan. Since 2018, FB4K Detroit has given away over 12,385 bikes to local kids in need. Each bike includes a free, properly sized helmet.
