WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI), Chairman of the Commerce Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, Maritime, Freight, and Ports, convened a subcommittee hearing today to examine the roadway safety crisis in America. In 2023, nearly 41,000 people died in roadway accidents in the United States, including 1,040 people in Michigan.
