Raise your hand if you got on board with Google Home, Amazon Echo or Apples iHome. These devices have proved themselves to make our lives easier. “Alexa, what’s weather like tomorrow?” “Alexa, add milk to the grocery list.” These devices have become our entertainment and our assistants in more ways than one. However, they’ve also received some flack for their lack of security measures. Some people are skeptical on how much these devices can actually hear and what is being done with the information we give. One family in Portland actually experienced what many fear. Their Echo actually recorded and send a private message to an individual on the family’s contact list.
