"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.” This quote from “The Strenuous Life” speech given by Theodore Roosevelt in Chicago is what keeps Jonathan Cottrell, founder of Hopscratch, going through those lows of being an entrepreneur. And it’s exactly why he started his company.

Hopscratch’s mission is to start and serve entrepreneurs on their journey by making it easy for them to start and grow a company. Becoming and entrepreneur and helping them started with his grandma. One day, she brought home a book called “Better Than a Lemonade Stand: Small Business Ideas for Kids.” At age 11, he started helping his neighbors take out the trash and collect newspapers. He now has a couple of startups under his belt, a successful company that he’s passionate about and role models most people would consider themselves lucky to have.
