Cybersecurity compliance consulting firm chooses Grand Rapids to expand
GRAND RAPIDS, MICH (AUG. 2023): The Right Place, Inc.. announced that cybersecurity compliance consulting firm Prescott will be moving its headquarters from Florida to Grand Rapids. As part of their expansion plans, they will be opening a new office located at 2301 E Paris Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546 that will serve as Prescott’s new headquarters.
Prescott is a cybersecurity compliance consulting firm that was founded in 2021 in response to the Department of Defense (DoD) creation of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). When the DoD established CMMC, one of the requirements they set forth is a third-party assessment. This is a critical part of the process to ensure that a company’s cybersecurity practices are being assessed and measured objectively. Founders Ryan Bonner and Chad Paalman saw that many organizations lacked internal personnel to lead compliance initiatives, so they launched Prescott to offer fractional compliance personnel as a service.
They plan to hire additional consultants to join their team and further expand their services. They are also looking to build out their management and executive leadership team here in Grand Rapids.
Prescott credits the decision to expand their footprint in the Grand Rapids area to the partnerships and relationships they have built between managed service providers and client companies in Michigan. They also have built strong connections with the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center, Small Business Development Center, and the Technology Council of West Michigan.
“We are incredibly excited to be expanding our operations here in Grand Rapids,” said Chad Paalman, Co-Founder of Prescott. “The strong relationships we’ve made with the tech community of this region ultimately led us to our decision to expand here. We look forward to continuing to provide top-notch compliance consulting services to our clients.”
“Prescott’s decision to relocate their HQ to the Greater Grand Rapids region is a strong testament to our area’s incredible tech ecosystem,” said Jen Wangler, Vice President of Technology at The Right Place and project lead. “We look forward to seeing the future partnerships and projects that come from their move.”
