CARSON CITY, MI – Sparrow Carson Hospital is proud to recognize Jennifer Barker, a Patient Care Technician in the Emergency Department, as our Caregiver of the Quarter.
Barker was nominated for going above and beyond with the care she provides patients in the Sparrow Carson Emergency Department. Her nomination noted “Jennifer was at bedside assisting a patient when he mentioned how ‘safe’ he felt at Sparrow Carson and how she provided him with a sense of security. … In that moment, her compassionate care gave the patient a sense of hope and security that’s irreplaceable.”
“Not only did Jen do this today, but daily, each shift she works, she puts forth 110% and is right next to us nurses and physicians in the trenches with the sickest of sick patients, assisting us and stepping up to perform essential job duties without being asked or reminded. Without Jen, there's no way we could deliver the care that we are able to without her,” said Emergency Department Manager Julie Noreen, BSN, RN.
As Caregiver of the Quarter, Barker exhibits Sparrow values of innovation, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence. We appreciate everything she does for our patients and the community.
