LANSING, MI – Edge CEO Lorri Rishar, MBA, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the organization charged with protecting Michigan life and health insurance policyholders.
The Michigan Life & Health Insurance Guaranty Association (MLHIGA) is a nonprofit association of life and health insurance companies authorized to write life, annuities or health insurance in Michigan. MLHIGA protects Michigan insurance policyholders, within limits, in the unlikely event that a member insurer becomes financially unable to meet its obligations.
Rishar will serve in a citizen’s capacity alongside the state’s top life and health insurers.
“I am confident Lorri will be a valued member of the Board, and I sincerely appreciate her willingness to serve in this manner,” said Anita G. Fox, director of the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services.
Recently, Rishar served as board chair for the 29,000-member Small Business Association of Michigan and currently is the immediate past chair. She just concluded her service on the Workplace Mental Health Workgroup convened by the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity, making recommendations to Governor Whitmer on supporting mental health practices in the workplace.
