South Korea-based company is noted for robotics and eco-friendly technology for the food and beverage industry

LANSING, Mich. — (December 9, 2024)—TAEIN E&D, a South Korea-based company recognized for its excellence in robotics and eco-friendly technologies for the food and beverage industry, today announced its expansion into the U.S. market, thanks to support from the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) and the Lansing Regional SmartZone (LRSZ).

Bob Trezise-1“Today’s announcement shows that the Lansing Region is growing as a landing place for international companies looking to expand their businesses,” said Bob Trezise, president and CEO of LEAP (left). “TAEIN picked Lansing because of its economic opportunities, its high-quality workforce, and the demonstrated track record that organizations like LEAP and LRSZ have in helping foreign companies thrive. We’re thrilled to welcome them to our community.”

TAEIN E&D is dedicated to pioneering advanced solutions in technology across two dynamic sectors: collaborative robotics solutions and ultrasonic electric deep fryers. TAEIN’s Michigan-based location founder, JinHee Han, is a graduate of Michigan State University.

“TAEIN is exactly the kind of company we want to bring to the Lansing region,” said Emma Bostwick, Director of Business Attraction at LEAP, who worked to recruit TAEIN to the Lansing region. “They’re innovative, eco-conscious, and dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Their decision to grow with us is a significant win for our area.”

TAEIN is a resident at the East Lansing Technology Innovation Center (TIC), a business incubator that provides a collaborative workspace, programmatic support, and vital resources for technology startups in the Lansing Region.

Jeff_Smith“We are excited to welcome TAEIN to the Lansing Region and to support the headquarters of their North American operations,” said Jeff Smith, Director of Research Parks for the MSU Research Foundation (left), which runs the TIC. “We’re happy to support their early stages here at the Technology Innovation Center, but we’re truly looking forward to watching their footprint and investment grow in Michigan.”

“The City of East Lansing is proud to be involved in supporting the Lansing Regional SmartZone and the East Lansing Technology Innovation Center (TIC). Its continued success in providing affordable space for new and innovative businesses like TAEIN E&D is a testament to this partnership,” said East Lansing City Manager Robert Belleman. “The TIC is made possible through East Lansing’s strong partnership with Michigan State University, MSU Foundation, the City of Lansing, LEAP and our local schools. Thanks to this partnership, TAEIN E&D will be able to continue its efforts to enhance efficiency, promote sustainability and improve everyday applications in the restaurant industry, per their mission.”

TAEIN received financial support from the Lansing Regional SmartZone, which stimulates the growth of technology-based businesses in the Lansing region by funding local partners to deliver exceptional entrepreneurial support services.

“The Lansing Regional SmartZone is proud to support the growth of TAEIN,” said Angel Miller, Executive Director of the Lansing Regional SmartZone. “Through our dynamic partnership model, TAEIN will have access to networking opportunities, technical services, university resources, business development support, and much more.”

TAEIN also received support from Spartan Innovations’ Mentors-In-Residence (MIR) program, which brings industry-experienced professionals as consultants for startups.

"We are proud to support the growth of TAEIN E&D through our Mentor-In-Residence Program,” said Rebecca Roman, Program Manager for the MIR program, who is dedicated to helping LRSZ clients. “It’s a privilege to guide this entrepreneur in building and validating a robust business model around industry-leading technology. Their innovative approach has the potential to revolutionize the food and beverage industry by prioritizing sustainability and safety, and elevating the customer experience."

TAEIN’s products include an automated frying robot designed to enhance efficiency and safety in the kitchen, an ultrasonic deep fryer that significantly reduces oil usage and enhances food quality, and solar LED lighting solutions.

“The Lansing area has everything I need to grow my business and maximize my chance for success,” Han said. “I want to thank LEAP, the LRSZ, Michigan State University, and everyone else who has been so eager and willing to support my dreams.”
