Co-working space will support underrepresented business owners & remote workers 

LANSING, Mich. — Piper & Gold Public Relations is proud to introduce Lansing’s first inclusive coworking space, Amp Coworking, located in the heart of REO Town. The office is dedicated to the needs of underrepresented entrepreneurs and remote workers facing disparities in the workplace.

Amp Coworking will open its doors to members starting this month. The office offers a cost-effective and flexible solution for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and remote workers, all while providing shared desk and conference space, supplies, and resources. The individual membership is $300 per month for all membership benefits. To support in making the space socioeconomically inclusive, those who meet the ALICE Threshold (or Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed representing households whose income is above the Federal Poverty Limit, but below the basic cost of living) qualify for membership at $150 per month. 

“Since the beginning of the pandemic, business owners and workers in our community have seen a shift in the way we work,” said Kate Snyder, founder and CEO of Piper & Gold Public Relations. “We wanted to take real action in building the Lansing community a tangible place for entrepreneurs and remote workers to work in an open and accepting workplace.” 

Employees of the agency faced the internal shift from in-person work to working remotely. This left their office space unused for the majority of the week, with the exception of a few local employees. With that, the agency has worked for almost a year to create a space dedicated to bringing together remote workers looking for an accepting and open workplace, unlike any other spot in the community. 

The space is equipped with a wide range of amenities to support its member’s needs. Including a kitchenette, printing and scanning, storage space, a private restroom, and more. The convenient location is close to scooter pickup locations, has direct access to Lansing’s River Trail, and is within walking distance from Cooley Gardens, Scott Sunken Garden, and multiple parks.
