LANSING, Mich. — Ronald McDonald House Charities Mid-Michigan received a $25,000 grant from Jackson National Life Insurance Company (Jackson) to help guests feel more at home throughout their stay. This grant was used to replace flooring in all eight guest rooms utilized by families caring for a hospitalized child.
“When a child is hospitalized, it has a wide impact. Families can be away from home and their support system for several weeks or months while the child receives care. At the House, we provide families a home away from home,” said Carolyn Hurst, executive director of RMHCMM. “This grant ensures we can continue to provide guests with a comfortable place to unwind just steps away from their child who is getting the care they need.”
For 23 years, the House has provided families from all over the world a private space to sleep and have a home-cooked meal while still being close to the hospital. This is important as guests can be called to their child's bedside at any moment. Jackson’s grant ensures their stay is more comfortable and feels a bit more like home.
“The House does so much to help support the families who stay there, and it’s an honor for us to contribute to making families feel at home while their child gets the care they need,” said Kirstyn Waldron, corporate philanthropy manager at Jackson. “We’re committed to contributing to organizations like the House that are dedicated to supporting strong families.”
Jackson’s community grant program invests philanthropic dollars into projects that strengthen families and increase economic opportunities to make a meaningful, long-term impact.
