Mackinac Policy Conference - The Business Community’s Changing Role in Polarizing Times

DPTV will be live-streaming full coverage of the annual Mackinac Policy Conference again this year, an event that brings together business, community, and policy leaders to collaborate on some of the biggest issues facing Michigan.
The theme this year is on the business community’s changing civic role in polarizing times, highlighting the areas in which Michigan’s business community can set an example including advancing diversity as a strength, utilizing civility and facts in public discourse, building a culture of empathy and advocating for the fundamental tenets of American democracy. Some of the thought leaders lined up include presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Jon Meacham; Emmy award-winning broadcast journalist, Ted Koppel; owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, Steve Ballmer; and addresses from Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Throughout the conference, Founding Managing Editor of “One Detroit,” Christy McDonald, will anchor DPTV’s coverage, Nolan Finley of The Detroit News , and Stephen Henderson, host of “American Black Journal” will join McDonald in a one-hour wrap-up special on Thursday, June 2, at: 7 p.m. ET on Detroit Public TV 56.1 and streamed live.
