Ann Arbor, Mich. — The Michigan Municipal League (the League) has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2024 honor by Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces. This list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling respected and supported, enabled to grow and empowered to execute.
All Top Workplaces awards are based on quantitative employee feedback. Organizations must achieve a 35% response rate to be considered for an award. In 2024, 276 workplaces throughout the state took the Energage survey; 198 were named Top Workplace winners by the Detroit Free Press, with 101 in the Small Business Group (employers with 50 to 149 employees), including the League. The League ranked 25th.

But it’s encouraging and reassuring to know that we’re also good listeners when it comes to our employees and what they need. What matters to them matters to us,” said Dan Gilmartin, CEO and Executive Director of the League.
This is the third consecutive year the League has been named a winner for Top Workplaces. The organization won the award for the first time in 2022.
