OKEMOS, Mich. – Michigan HomeCare & Hospice Association has announced the results of its annual election of board members who will serve new two-year terms.
New to the board are:
· Diane Glasgow, director, Covenant Visiting Nurse Association, Saginaw.
· Melinda Gruber, vice president, Continued Care Services, Spectrum Health Lakeland, St. Joseph.
· Sara Lowe, executive director, Emmanuel Hospice, Grand Rapids.
· Cleamon Moorer Jr., DBA, President, American Advantage Home Care, Dearborn.
· Sam Watson, senior vice president, Michigan Health & Hospital Association, Okemos.
Trade association members reelected:
· Kristin Harrison, director, Munson Home Services, Traverse City.
· Deb Holman, chief compliance officer, Hart Medical Equipment, Grand Blanc.

MHHA board members work to improve the home health care industry by providing advice to trade association management as well as providing oversight of all MHHA activities, including legislative and regulatory advocacy, and continued advancement of home care best practices.
Michigan HomeCare & Hospice Association is a state trade association serving as a unified voice, a principal resource, and an advocate for 240 member organizations in the home care and hospice industry. Members are best-practice providers of home health, hospice, private duty, home medical equipment, and pharmacy-infusion services.
MHHA was founded in 1981. Today, it is the primary provider of home health education in the state, and supports cost-savings projects and industry research. The association promotes understanding, cooperation, and communication among home health care providers and serves as a liaison with other local, state, and national organizations. MHHA is also active in educating legislators and regulatory bodies on the merits of home care and how it can be used most efficiently. Home care is an important component of the health care continuum. As society ages and health care costs increase, home care will continue to offer cost-effective alternatives to institutional care.
