The Pinckney-Putnam-Hamburg-Hell (PPHH) Chamber of Commerce will kick off the 2019 summer season with its Annual Art in the Park. Pinckney’s Art in the Park, always the first weekend following Memorial Day, will take place in the Putnam Township Square in Downtown Pinckney, minutes from our very own unique and quirky Hell, Michigan. Lyon Township will celebrate its 11th Annual Kite Festival on June 1st through the 2nd-2019, at its James Atchison Park. The park is located just north of the township offices at 58000 W Grand River Ave., New Hudson, located approximately 1/2 mile west of Milford Rd. Admission is free, but there is a parking fee of $5.00 per vehicle in support of the park fund. Highlights of the festival include the following!
Professional Kite Flyers, Kids Entertainment, Exotic Pet Show, Concerts, Food Tasting Competition, and Business Displays.

The Main Tent will be located in Zehnder park, sponsored by Zehnders and Bavarian Inn Lodge and Restaurant, and will host a number of traditional German entertainers and polka bands. The Rock Tent will be located behind Tiffany’s, rocking Friday and Saturday night. The Chamber Platz will feature a beer garden and bands.
For the 2nd year, the Friday Night Street Party is going to fill Main Street with bands, beverages and the Festival Olympics.
Saturday will play host to a number of events happening through town including the
Kindertag Parade and the Kinder (Kids) Area.

Art on the River is a two day art and music festival which features many fine artists, crafters! Hosted by Citizens for a Vibrant Community, Art on River is the second weekend in June in Downtown Port Huron…along the shores of the Black River on Quay Street and surrounding areas.
The Michigan Traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be returning to Art on the River this year. They will have the Memorial on display throughout the event. A motorcycle escort will bring the Memorial to Art on the River June 11th around 8 a.m.
Over the weekend there are 16 bands to enjoy near the beverage tent. The beverage tent is hosted by Andy Bakko of Wolverine Market. Andy is the only certified sommelier in the Blue Water Area. There are many fine wines along with several craft beers to sample.
Art in the River is a family friendly event with art workshops, hands on art, music to dance to and food to enjoy.

The first Bluegill Festival in St. Helen took place in 1949. Consisting of archery contests, fishing contests, coon dog field trials, a ball game, banquet, and grand parade followed by the crowing of a Bluegill Queen the event has lived on for over 6 decades.
The festival takes place each year in June. It begins with an opening ceremony and kid’s parade on Thursday evening as vendors set-up for the action packed weekend. The beverage pavilion also opens up for business and the carnival rides are up and running.
Friday and Saturday is full of excitement. In addition to the amusement park rides provided by Schmidt Amusements the festival includes crafter demonstrations, live music and entertainment, vendors, kids games, a medallion hunt, and great food. Saturday wraps up with the Grand Parade and Awards Ceremony.

The Three Rivers Water Festival is a three-day, free community festival in mid-June with a wide variety of activities for people of all ages. These include an ox roast, classic car, truck & motorcycle show, Strawberry Fest, carnival midway, pancake breakfast, arts & crafts, free kids activities, street parade, food vendors, entertainment & fireworks. The festival, staged in Historic Downtown Three Rivers and adjacent parks, along the river banks, began in 1956 and is sponsored and coordinated by the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce and its’ Volunteer Festival Committee.

Pinconning, MI June 14-15, 2019
The CheeseTown Challenge Race & Festival is an event sponsored by the Pinconning & Linwood Area Chamber of Commerce. Most of the events are held in Doc Letchfield Park which is located at 200 N. Mable (M-13) in Pinconning.
The Festival kicks off on Friday 6/14 at 5:00 p.m. with the CheeseTown Dad Contest at the Pinconning Bandshell and free activities for children. The evening ends about 8:00 p.m. Also held on Friday is the famous Mac & Cheese Dinner at the Community Center starting at 5:00 p.m. All of these event are located in Doc Letchfield Park.
Saturday 6/15, things get started with the Cheesy Pararde at 11:00 a.m. The parade ends at Doc Letchfield Park which is when the activities begin. Free live music starts in the afternoon and ends at dark. Activities such as inflatable rides, face painting, bingo, petting zoo, etc. all start about noon. A big part of this event is the CheeseTown Challenge Race which brings in hundreds of participants and their families to the festival. The 2 mile/5 mile race starts at 6:00 p.m. and the finish line for the race is in Doc Letchfield Park. Race awards are presented from the Pinconning Bandshell starting at about 7:30 p.m. The live music starts again after the award presentations. The festival wraps up with the Cheesemendous fireworks which begin at dark on Saturday evening.
There are several non-profit organizations that take advantage of the festival to sponsor events and activities to raise money and highlight their community/organization. Local businesses are very supportive and donate goods, money, and time to help make the festival fun for everyone.

We have 400 acres of land to create a one of a kind reenactment. The civilian living area to include such things as a post office, a school, a surgeon, dress shop, dressmaker general store and saloon complete with lemonade and big pickles in a crook. The military will be set to Battle at Turkey Run. General Davis as well as President Lincoln We will have a debate with the generals and active conversation throughout the entire weekend.

The Cedar Polka Fest is an annual festival celebrating the towns rich Polish history. Lasting 4 nights, nearly 10,000 people descend into town to eat drink and dance the nights away. The Cedar Polka Fest is an annual festival celebrating the towns rich Polish history. Lasting 4 nights, nearly 10,000 people descend into town to eat drink and dance the nights away. With live Polka music from the best Polka Bands in America, this festival is a real treat for Polka fans. Along with traditional Polish food, food vendors offer Beer, Ribs, Hotdogs, Popcorn and so much more. Kids will enjoy games, while adults will indulge in the unique atmosphere that only Polka can create. This is one of very few Polka Festivals left in the United States. The countdown has begun for the Ford Fireworks. Celebrating 61 years, this year’s magnificent display will take place on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 9:55 p.m. ET, transforming Detroit’s skyline into one of the nation’s most spectacular displays of pyrotechnic wonder.
Produced by The Parade Company, the Ford Fireworks is also hailed as one of the largest tributes to America’s independence and the kick-off to summer in Detroit, drawing hundreds of thousands of people for a night of stunning riverfront views and family excitement.
In its role as the show’s producer, The Parade Company curates the musical arrangement and works exclusively with Zambelli Fireworks to stage more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects visible for miles along the Detroit River. The 2019 display will be choreographed again by world-renowned Patrick Brault, whose experience designing pyrotechnic displays includes past Olympic celebrations.
The Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party will once again provide the best views. The 46th Annual Pictured Rocks Road Race will be held Sunday June 30, 2019 in the picturesque town of Munising, Michigan, the gateway to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The race features a 1/2 marathon and 10k route that travel along a combination of paved roads and two-track trails. The race starts and ends in the heart of Munising at Bay Shore Park on the southern shores of Lake Superior. From the start you head west out of town on the road towards Tourist Park Campground, at which point you head south onto a two-track road that brings you up onto the hill that overlooks the west side of town. The 10k route cuts back down the hill towards town and Bay Shore Park while the 1/2 marathon continues atop the hill weaving through the surrounding forest until returning back to town down St. Martin’s Hill. The 1/2 Marathon course continues across town to Cemetery Hill and tours through the east end of Munising until returning to Bay Shore Park.
