In 2014, after far too long of simply skimming the surface of all that the Greater Lansing Area had to offer, Sarah Pierce decided to dig deeper. She started a project called 517 Living, which turned into a community Facebook group of over 40,000 members, a widely used events calendar, and a growing directory of locally owned businesses and local organizations, and she says the journey has changed her in ways she couldn't have imagined.
