Scholarships Available to Students Pursuing Careers in Poultry Industry

East Lansing, Mich., Sept. 25, 2023 – Michigan Allied Poultry Industry (MAPI) announced its fifth annual fall scholarship program this week, aimed at encouraging college students to pursue careers in the poultry industry and supporting their education. The organization is now accepting applications for the $1,500 scholarships through October 20.

The MAPI scholarship provides financial assistance to future leaders in the Michigan poultry industry. The scholarship is available to undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing a career in a poultry-focused agricultural field or business.

“As the global population grows, so does the need for local and affordable protein,” said Dr. Nancy Barr, MAPI executive director. “Careers in this industry are poised to grow, and we want to ensure we are continuing to build a strong pipeline of talented students in Michigan to continue the growth of our Michigan farms.”

Scholarship applicants must:

·      Must be attending an accredited school.

·      Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits each semester during the school year in which the scholarship is awarded.

·      Must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better.
