The deadline to enroll a trustee in the new MHA Governance Affinity Group is Dec. 22. The affinity group is designed for board and committee chairs who must fulfill important leadership responsibilities and are looking for a convenient and cost-effective way to practice the communication and facilitation skills needed to engage in fruitful discussion focused on long-term strategic issues.
The affinity group consists of two 90-minute virtual sessions noon to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 23 and March 12.
The offering includes customized agendas with ample time for robust discussion with the group and faculty and access to governance articles and templates in a dedicated portal. Experts with more than 25-years of healthcare experience as executive and governance leaders lead the education and discussion.
Over the years, the MHA has held courses in board governance and leadership which have successfully set our hospital members, their leaders and board members up for success. This program is one more tool to ensure hospital stakeholders feel equipped to lead and govern.
The tuition for membership in the affinity group is $2,500 to register a maximum of four people who serve as board chair, board chair-elect, vice chair or a committee chair on the same board. Tuition for more than four people on the same board is $6,375.
Members can register by contacting Erica Leyko and questions can be directed to Erin Steward at the MHA.
