New Housing Projects Boost Five Michigan Communities

The state's Revitalization and Placemaking program is supporting new housing and mixed-use redevelopment projects in Cheboygan, Lowell, Petoskey, Spring Lake and Zeeland. This $21.3 million in total investment will create 78 new residential units while transforming vacant properties.

Community impact: Projects range from downtown workforce apartments to retail spaces, enhancing vibrancy across both peninsulas.

As President of Bay Mills Indian Community, Whitney Gravelle combines cultural preservation with economic development.

The MSU Research Foundation manages an endowment built from decades of licensing revenue, providing over $10 million annually in research funding through its ecosystem of innovation partners, including Spartan Innovations and Red Cedar Ventures.
