Wednesday, August 28th, Jeffrey Mosher was on the road to Detroit.
At the NewLab Building at Michigan Central Station, Detroit, MI, for the
The Innovation Summit 2024:  Fostering Collaboration in US Manufacturing.

Watch the Lt Governor share about this summit and things the administration is doing to support innovation in Michigan in the YouTube video shared below:

Welcome back to the Michigan Business Beat, Lt. Governor, based on the event we’re attending today, can you speak to innovation and infrastructure?

Our Michigan business community would likely value you diving into key programs like PitchMI and Infrastructure for Innovation, please share about them and the progress that has been made in these areas especially like landing a Michigan tech hub?

When we were up at the Mackinac Policy Conference you were a panelist for a session: “Making Michigan a High-Growth, High-Wage State” what came out of it and where are we?

Finally, last year we ran into you at the North American Battery Show in Novi,  and that event is returning to Detroit in October. How does Michigan hosting it two years in a row speak to our position in innovation and growth?

Here's some more about the day:

Uniting Industry Leaders to Create Jobs, Grow the Economy, and Shape the Future of Manufacturing

LANSING, Mich. -- Today, in Detroit, Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II joined the U.S. Center for Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Summit, supporting Governor Whitmer’s mission of ensuring anyone can “Make it in Michigan.” The summit helps bolster job creation and our economy in Michigan by connecting leading innovators from several manufacturing sectors, venture capital firms, and policymakers who are paving the way in fostering cross-sector collaboration and advancing U.S. manufacturing capabilities.

Since taking office, Governor Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist have announced three key initiatives to support innovation in Michigan: Naming the first ever Chief Innovation Ecosystem Officer, establishing a state-wide shark-tank-style competition called PitchMI, and launching “Infrastructure for Innovation.” Each of these initiatives has established Michigan as a leader in innovation, growing our economy and ensuring entrepreneurs and innovators know they have a home in Michigan to pursue their dreams.

Those on hand today included: Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist II

U.S Representative Haley Stevens

Mayor Mike Duggan, City of Detroit

Cynthia Hutchinson, CEO of US Center for Advanced Manufacturing

Jake Chidester, VP Strategy & Innovation of Bedrock

Andi Donovann, SVP of Carhartt

Mike Cicco, CEO of Fanuc America

NewLab Building at Michigan Central Station, Detroit, MI, for the U.S. Center for Advanced Manufacturing's Innovation Summit 2024:  Fostering Collaboration in US Manufacturing.

The event kicked off Wednesday, August 28 at 9:00AM, the Lieutenant Governor spoke around 9:30 am.
