Thursday, April 18, at 6 p.m. MBN was on the road as LAFCU held graduation ceremony for their latest cohort of award-winning, eight-month personal finance course.

Shared here are a pair of videos of the graduation ceremony including remarks, in the YouTube videos below:

LAFCU was hosting an in-person graduation ceremony for its 2023-2024 Pathway to Financial Transformation cohort. Graduates were honored with certificates of completion. They wore caps and gowns at the event, commemorating their diligence for completing the eight-month, 16-module course and celebrating the significant progress made on their financial journey.

This was held at Alfreda Schmidt Southside Community Center | 5825 Wise Road, Lansing, MI 48911.

Participants who completed LAFCU’s 2023-2024 Pathway to Financial Transformation personal finance course, along with their families and friends gathered on that occasion.

LAFCU CEO Patrick Spyke and other LAFCU staff, including Kelli Ellsworth Etchison (chief marketing officer and chief diversity officer) and Shelia Scott (Pathway to Financial Transformation course leader and LAFCU community financial education and business development officer) gave remarks during the program.

LAFCU has long been a financial literacy education supporter and expanded its efforts in 2021 to create a free, comprehensive financial literacy course for adults called Pathway to Financial Transformation. The course empowers participants to achieve financial success and stability by fostering skills in saving, budgeting, and effective money management. It is available to both LAFCU members and nonmembers across Michigan at no cost.
