Rod Taylor joins firm to lead newly developed municipality consulting services team
LANSING, Mich. – Maner Costerisan has launched a new consulting service to support its government clients in strengthening their fiscal and operational structures. Rod Taylor has been hired to lead Maner’s newly developed municipality consulting services team and serve as the firm’s senior governmental consultant.
“Rod’s deep experience and tremendous passion for helping government entities succeed make him the best person to lead our new municipality consulting services team,” said Bill Tucker, CPA, principal and director, Maner Costerisan. “With his expertise and leadership, the firm looks forward to providing consulting support to more municipalities across the state.”
Maner’s new municipality consulting team will work directly with Michigan municipalities to keep them in statutory compliance, ensure appropriate policies and processes are in place, and implement best practices that help leaders make good financial decisions and positively impact their local communities. The team specializes in providing three distinct sets of services to local governments: financial and operational planning, organization enhancement, and operational assistance.
Strong local governments and vibrant communities are one of the keys to a strong state economy. The municipal consulting team at Maner Costerisan aims to help local governing offices of all sizes by creating fiscal sustainability and strong internal support systems. Financial control reviews, risk assessments, budget preparation, identifying grant opportunities, providing key staff support during transitions, and reviewing capital improvement plans are just a few of the specialized services that are being added to support local municipalities.
“I am incredibly honored to serve in this new role, and I look forward to advising and consulting clients on best practices so funds are spent wisely and responsibly, positive change occurs, and communities can thrive,” said Taylor.
Taylor brings nearly 30 years of experience to Maner Costerisan. He recently served as a division administrator at the State of Michigan, where he assisted local governments with maintaining strong fiscal and operational health and leveraged statistical analysis to identify local units in fiscal or operational distress, and proactively worked with them to address their challenges. Taylor also worked as the manager of DeWitt Township for 11 years.
