Potterville Adult Education Program Gives Adults a Second Chance at Education
LANSING, Mich. — For adult learners at all education levels, there are resources and ways to meet the education requirements for career opportunities and set themselves up for success. One such resource that’s been serving the mid-Michigan region for more than two decades is the Potterville Adult Education (PAE) program.
On July 1, the PAE program moved into the Capital Area Michigan Works! Lansing American Job Center (AJC). PAE provides people aged 18 and older in Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties with the opportunity to earn a High School Equivalent (HSE) certificate in addition to offering Adult Basic Education (ABE) designed for adults whose math and reading skills are below the ninth-grade level.
“We’re thrilled to call the Lansing AJC our home base. We are grateful for the support of CAMW! and to be in such a perfect location,” said Julie DeRose, director of PAE. “PAE is committed to its mission to create a safe, caring and respectful environment for learning, enabling students to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to succeed in life and in work. We will do this by serving the tri-county region with both in-person and virtual classes.”
The PAE program also believes everyone is entitled to receive a quality education, and each person — regardless of age or previous school history — should be given an opportunity to acquire the skills needed for success in life and work.
“PAE has provided services to thousands of adults in our region for over two decades, and CAMW! is proud to host the PAE as a partner within our facilities,” said Carrie Rosingana, chief executive officer of CAMW!. “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to provide even more direct access to HSE certification and ABE services to more residents in our region.”
