LANSING, Mich. -- Laura Wotruba has been named director of communications at the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget (DTMB), overseeing all internal and external communications and media relations. She replaces Caleb Buhs, who served in the position for more than eight years prior to his promotion as chief deputy director of DTMB in March.
Wotruba began her new role last week and will serve as the main point of contact for members of the media seeking comments and information from DTMB. She has been a member of the DTMB Communications team for the past four years and has more than 20 years of experience in communications and public relations, having worked in the Legislature and in the education, healthcare, and insurance sectors.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in public relations from Western Michigan University. She resides in Grand Ledge with her husband, Don, and two children.
