Lansing Sports CommissionTM projects significant economic impact
LANSING, MICH. – June 11, 2024 – Several sports events will bring more than 8,000 athletes and thousands more coaches, families and spectators to the Lansing area in June and July. The Lansing Sports CommissionTM is excited to host MHSAA Athletics, Capital City Tennis Classic, Mid-Michigan Rugby 7’s and more.
“We’re excited to welcome thousands of athletes from across the country this summer,” said Meghan Ziehmer, Executive Director for the Lansing Sports CommissionTM. “Events like these fuel our local economy and support local hotels, restaurants and venues. It's a true team effort, and we're grateful for our partners and volunteers who make it all possible.”
MHSAA – Baseball Semifinals and Finals
McLane Stadium at Michigan State University, June 13-15
The top high school baseball teams from around the state will play for the title of State Champion.

Michigan High School Clay Target League State Tournament
Michigan Trapshooting Association, June 15-16
Eighty teams with over 1,250 student athletes will come from across the state to compete.
USA High School Clay Target League National Championships
Michigan Trapshooting Association, July 10-14
Nearly 3,000 of the nation’s best clay target student athletes will gather in Mason, Michigan, to compete for the title of National Champion.
Mid-Michigan 7’s (Eastern Men's Regional & Women's Event)
Hope Sports Complex, July 13
Approximately 200 athletes from 16 teams in the Midwest will compete in Lansing for a spot at the USA Rugby National 7s Championship.

Capital City Tennis Classic
Michigan State University Tennis Courts, July 15-21
This event will feature 120 players in both singles and doubles draws.
Beikoku Shidokan Karatedo National Training Seminar
Lansing Center, July 26-27
Shidokan practitioners and supporters from around the globe will gather in Lansing to learn and train together.
