Lansing Housing Commission constructs new garden beds for residents

Volunteers to begin at Hildebrandt Park

WHAT: Volunteer group helping to construct new raised garden beds for community use 

WHO: Doug Fleming, executive director, Lansing Housing Commission, Kristine Ranger, resident engagement specialist, Lansing Housing Commission Volunteers     

WHEN: Friday, May 14, at 1:30 p.m.  

WHERE: Hildebrandt Park, 3122 Turner Road, Lansing, MI 48906 (masks and social distancing required for attendance)         

WHY: As part of the City of Lansing grant received in 2020, LHC will have garden beds available at all properties this year. Volunteers will start constructing garden beds at Hildebrandt Park. Residents will be able to grow cabbage, collard greens, tomatoes, peppers, herbs and other fresh items until October.   

Doug Fleming, along with other LHC partners, are available to discuss project.
