This segment is an interview on location at Block Imaging following a "Learn and Lunch" workshop focusing on how the skill sets used in improvisation can be applied to the workforce.
Block Imaging recently was recognized by the Lansing Chamber of Commerce for their innovative work and global reach. They recently extended that reach to the Theater Department's Improv Troupe at DeWitt High School.
The Improv Troupe was ask to hold a hour long workshop with employees of Block Imaging introducing them to the mindset of an improv artists. Many skills used in improv can be easily adapted to the workplace.
By establishing a norm where people, creativity, listening, and risk taking are at the forefront of maintaining a positive work culture that embraces idea sharing and creative problem solving employees can better serve the needs of clients while also being actively engaged in establishing a creative synergy where empathy and inclusion matter.
After hosting the applied improvisation workshop, students participated in a Q & A session, ate lunch with employees, and toured the facility.
