Eaton County Emergency Management seeks public input for strategic planning
Responses accepted through Dec. 31, 2023
EATON COUNTY, MI – Eaton County Emergency Management wants to hear from residents by year’s end as it plans for the area’s readiness and response to future hazards.
As part of its preparation for a 2024-2025 strategic plan, the Emergency Management Department encourages all residents, businesses and organizations in Eaton County to complete a brief questionnaire found at www.eatoncounty.org/civicalerts. Completed responses are due Dec. 31, 2023, for consideration in the multi-year plan.
“Eaton County Emergency Management is committed to developing a coordinated and cooperative program that engages the whole community in all efforts possible to prevent, protect, mitigate, respond to and recover from all hazards in order to build and maintain a more resilient community,” said Emergency Manager Ryan Wilkinson.
Residents can review the draft Multi-Year Strategic Plan prior to completing the survey. The draft includes a mission and vision statement, summary, program overview and goals. In addition, Eaton County Emergency Management discusses its focus on a long-term goal of achieving accreditation through the independent, nonprofit Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP).
“The strategic planning process helps identify gaps we can effectively address to actively work toward attaining EMAP accreditation,” said Wilkinson.
