(FLINT, Mich., Oct. 7, 2024) Today, Crain’s Detroit Business released its 40 Under 40 honorees for 2024. Among the professionals listed is Tyler Rossmaessler, executive director of the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance, a division of the Flint & Genesee Group.
In his role, Rossmaessler leads a team of economic development professionals responsible for business retention and attraction, private investment, and job creation in Genesee County. As noted in his 40 Under 40 profile, he was involved in charting Forward Together, a shared economic vision to position Genesee County as a top-five county by 2040; played a role in the redevelopment of Buick City; and is currently working to attract a job-creating advanced manufacturing project to the Advanced Manufacturing District of Genesee County.
“We are very proud of Tyler’s recognition as one of Crain’s 40 Under 40,” said Tim Herman, CEO of the Flint & Genesee Group. “His leadership at the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance has been instrumental in driving transformational projects like the redevelopment of Buick City and the ongoing work at the Advanced Manufacturing District. This recognition is well-deserved, and we look forward to all the great work he will continue to do for our community.”
Prior to joining the Flint & Genesee Economic Alliance in 2017, Rossmaessler was a business development manager at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, where he cultivated collaboration among state, local, and private-sector stakeholders to promote jobs and investment in Michigan. He also was a senior consultant at The Clearing, Inc., a Washington, D.C.- based management consulting firm dedicated to supporting “Change Agents” as they tackle the most daunting and complex problems facing the nation and their businesses.
“Receiving this recognition is a true honor and deeply meaningful to me,” Rossmaessler said. “Growing up in this region, I’ve always felt a personal connection to Flint and Genesee County. To be able to contribute to its economic resurgence and see the positive changes happening here is incredibly rewarding. This acknowledgment provides even further motivation to continue the work of building a stronger, more vibrant community for future generations.”
Honorees were nominated by their peers, colleagues, friends, and family and selected by a team of Crain’s Detroit Business editors. This is a recognition the publication has coordinated since 1991. Read more at CrainsDetroit.com.
