Katie Thornton, Senior Manager at Plante Moran, and Denise Amburgey, Finance and Administration Manager at MSAE spoke with MSAE’s Cheryl Ronk, regarding the newly founded Finance and Accounting Roundtable (FAR). This group was formed to help benefit the finance and accounting members of MSAE’s associations, giving them a chance to improve their systems and share their best practices with other members.
The first meeting was held May 26, 2015, the topic was internal controls and it was a success. The group meets quarterly with the second meeting being held on August 26, 2015, 8:30-10:00 a.m., at the MSAE office in East Lansing. The topic will cover various aspects of not-for-profit financial software, ranging from internal self-assessment, common financial systems, customer relationship management (CRM) software, getting the information you need from the systems (interim FS/dashboards,) and changing software implementation challenges. Listen in as Katie, Denise and Cheryl discuss these topics and why attending is important.
