This month Dave is discussing a module - Strategic Storytelling.
Think about a time when someone inspired you, motivated you, or caused you to think about the direction you were heading. In their conversation, did they use facts, statistics, and logic to build a case that convinced you one way or another? Or, did they have a story to tell, which left an impact? The saying goes: Facts tell, stories sell. The power of story is as old as the human race - around a campfire, telling stories of the gods to explain phenomenon which otherwise couldn’t be explained.
But not everyone isn’t comfortable creating stories, or they feel they aren’t very good when it comes to delivering a story effectively. The creative part is easy - stories can come from a variety of sources - and Google can be one of the best tools to find stories that others have told, that will deliver the message that you need to convey. And like anything - the skill of storytelling is one developed with practice.
In Crestcom’s session on Strategic Storytelling, one of our newest modules presented by Kelly Swanson, we look when and how to use stories to create an impact, and the four points of connection that make a story influential.
To learn a little more about how storytelling can boost your leadership effectiveness, listen in as Dave & Jeffery discuss these concepts further.
