Norman Towers, an affordable housing community in Monroe, MI, features 109 bright and spacious homes offering independent living options for seniors. The historic property was originally constructed in 1918 as a boarding school and later became the only military boarding school in the State of Michigan. The substantial renovations preserved the historic features of the building while incorporating amenities for modern living. Financing was provided by Cinnaire, MSHDA, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBI), and Insite, a division of Chemical Bank.

Norman Towers recently completed a conservation project to restore the ceiling which had been damaged from a roof leak. The restoration project was led by Ron Koenig, an architectural conservator who specializes in the conservation of historic architectural materials. Click here to read the feature story in The Monroe News.
