The 2024 Building Michigan Communities Conference (BMCC) Planning Committee has put forth a call for submissions to present at the upcoming event May 14-15, 2024 in Lansing, Michigan.
With our theme Transform: Accelerate, we look to bring exciting opportunities and meaningful experiences and are in search of content that aligns with the mission statement and objectives of the BMCC in the following formats:
- 5 - 10 minute Pecha Kucha (Japanese for chit-chat, several short presentations sharing ideas) style session
- 60-minute educational session (interactive sessions encouraged)
- Simulation (Poverty, Disability, etc.)

Objectives
Bring together the stakeholders involved with the affordable housing industry in Michigan for:
- Focused training sessions on a variety of topics (professional and personal growth);
- Invaluable opportunities for networking and deal-making;
- Building collaborative relationships and advocacy that endure beyond the conference; and
- Promoting equitable programs and policies in support of the Statewide Housing Plan.
Who should attend the Building Michigan Communities Conference (BMCC)? Because housing is a cornerstone of thriving communities, the BMCC attracts a wide range of attendees from elected officials and staff to housing service providers – for those across the housing continuum.
We offer sessions, keynotes, exhibits and networking opportunities for homeless service providers, service organizations, housing counseling, landlords, management companies, nonprofit/for-profit developers, architects, construction, engineering, realtors, financiers, advocacy groups, legislators, attorneys, accountants, property dealings, zoning, municipalities, townships, villages, Downtown Development Associations, Main Streets, Regional Housing Partnerships, community and economic developers, utility companies, government agencies, institutions of higher learning, neighborhood associations, Redevelopment Ready Communities, and all other housing intersections.
