Attend the job and community resource fair during the 29th annual Lansing Juneteenth Celebration
LANSING, Mich. —A job and community resource fair, hosted by the Lansing Juneteenth Committee and NAACP-Lansing with support from Capital Area Michigan Works!, will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at St. Joseph Park, located at 2125 W Hillsdale St. in Lansing.
“Juneteenth in Lansing is all about redefining and transforming ourselves for the betterment of the community. A large part of ourselves and what we offer to our community are the jobs we work every day,” said Marilyn Rogers, Lansing Juneteenth chair. “We’re looking forward to celebrating Juneteenth with our community and offering individuals and businesses the opportunity to connect in a relaxed and positive setting.”
Representatives from 50 organizations, including employers from a variety of industries and community resources, will be in attendance. The event is an opportunity for people to network with local organizations and learn more about available positions that can adequately meet their interests and needs. Businesses will be recruiting for — but are not limited to — the following jobs:
-
Registered nurses
-
Caregivers
-
Driving operators
-
Mechanics
-
Teachers
-
Child care directors
-
Financial services representatives
-
Residential technicians
-
Mental health therapists
-
Client service specialists
Attendees are encouraged to come as you are — this is a casual event compared to a traditional job fair. There is no required dress code or need to bring copies of a resume. This fair, along with the rest of the Lansing Juneteenth Celebration, is a rain or shine event. Resource and employers booths will be under two large tents in the park.
