MiCareerQuest Capital Area is a hands-on career exploration event designed to pique students’ interests and expose them to jobs they may have never heard of or considered before, particularly those in demand in our region. More than 4,400 students from high schools throughout the area are expected to participate. We need more than 70 local businesses like yours to be true partners in this event, helping plan the activities, and attending the event to create meaningful, fun, exciting experiences for students from districts throughout the area.

Here is the 3-minute video from our previous MiCareerQuest Capital Area event.

Careers are categorized according to 4 quadrants:
  • Health and Human Services
  • Business/IT/Arts/Communication
  • Natural Resources and Agriscience
  • Manufacturing and Engineering
Exhibit examples included:
  • Navigating the state-of-the-art technology that controls the functions of heavy vehicles such as Granger recycling trucks.
  • Trying their hands at welding through welding simulators (bonus points if they got the top score).
  • Experiencing the inner workings of an emergency management mobile command center.
  • Making tiny bristle robots with TechSmith that students will be able to race against friends and take home with them.
  • Removing organs from a life-sized manikin at Sparrow’s surgical exhibit.

This 16-minute video from our previous event shows even more exhibit ideas.
