The Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) will host its 14th annual Hometown Power 5K today, Saturday, August 10 at 9am. Proceeds for the event will benefit the McLaren Greater Lansing Healthcare Foundation.
WHAT: BWL Hometown Power 5K
WHEN: Saturday, August 10, 9am start
WHERE: BWL REO Town Headquarters, 1201 S. Washington Ave., Lansing
This year’s race will again run through neighborhoods near the BWL REO Town Headquarters and along the river trail (see attached image for the course map). Each finisher will receive a race tech t-shirt and a finisher’s medal. Medals will also be awarded to the top three in each age group and overall winners. There will also be a free kids’ fun run following the completion of the 5K.
Packet pick-up were held on Friday, August 9 at the REO Town Depot from 1-5pm, as well as from 7:30-8:45am the morning of the race.
Note that due to construction, the S. Washington Ave. bridge between W. Malcolm X St. and E. Hazel St. will be closed.
