How to Get More Out of The Microsoft 365 Stack Bottom Line IT with Mike Maddox
During any economic crisis, there are two camps of people: those who make it and those who don’t.
Give this six segment episode with Sue, Matthew, Randy and Mike a listen in the podcast below:
In this episode of Bottom Line IT, host Mike Maddox of ASK sits down with three different guests to discuss a topic for every business should be paying attention to right now: how to sharpen your fundamentals so you cannot just weather the pandemic, but come out on the other side better than you were before.
COVID-19 swooped in and turned the business community on its head in the matter of weeks. Suddenly, organizations that operated traditionally had to find new solutions to pivot their operations to be entirely remote. That meant they needed to focus their attention back on the fundamentals that would help their organization survive:
1. Protecting Cashflow
2. Maintaining Productivity
3. Generating Leads and Growing Their Business in a Virtual World
As technology experts, ASK launched its Business Fundamentals program to match companies with technology solutions that could help them solve key issues in any one of those areas. During the episode, each of our guests shares how they used the Microsoft 365 stack to address those fundamentals for their organization.
First, we hear from Sue Garrity who is the Senior Director of Information Systems & Technology for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce. She explains how their organization – who was already using the Microsoft 365 suite for their business- utilized Microsoft Teams to streamline communication with their vendors, staff, and members.
“Most people view Teams as Skype for business” Mike explains, “but it’s so much more than that.”
Next, we hear from Matthew Duda who is the Information Technology Manager at Clark Construction Company. Like Sue, Matt’s team has loved using the Microsoft 365 stack. In fact, with the use of tools Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, Clark has been able to move most operations to be cloud-based. Meaning, whether their team is working from home, the office, or a job site, they can still access all their files and other business tools no matter where they are.
They also touch on the value of having interconnectivity between Microsoft’s various tools.
Finally, we hear from Randall Beckhorn who is the IT Director at RSI Logistics, Inc. Randy talks about his company's transition to cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure.
If reading (or listening) to these experiences is making your head spin, the truth is that while these solutions are awesome, they take a lot of leg work to set up so that they function at their best. However, the payoff - which Mike points out - is being able to leverage this powerful technology ecosystem to help you save money, be more efficient, and ultimately grow your business.
