MARQUETTE, MI —The Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 Distinguished Service Awards, sponsored by the Marquette County Ambassadors. Northern Michigan University was selected in the business category and Brett French as the individual award recipient. The awards will be presented in front of community members attending the LSCP’s Annual Dinner held in Northern Michigan University’s Great Lakes Room on March 9.

PLUS ONE RECOGNIZES NEW JOBS IN MARQUETTE COUNTY

MARQUETTE, MI —  Fifty-five Marquette County businesses have collectively created 223 new jobs in 2016 and were recognized for their participation in the Plus One Program on Wednesday, February 8th during the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s Annual Meeting.

Michigan Works! and the Lake Superior Community Partnership’s Plus One program is a program designed around the premise that an employer adding just one employee contributes to the economic development in Marquette County.  Since the inception of the program nine years ago, Marquette County businesses have created 2,970 jobs.

Match UP talent portal ready to accept resumes for open positions Connect with Match UP Applicant Event scheduled for January 23

MARQUETTE, MI — In collaboration with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) and UPWARD Talent Council are offering Cliffs Natural Resource’s Empire Mine displaced workers a job portal to assist with securing new employment opportunities.

On January 23, the UPWARD Talent Council will host an event at Ronn Hall (1206 Baldwin Ave, Negaunee) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. to assist applicants with using the system. Computers and staff will be available to provide access to the site and assistance with resumes.

Amy Clickner appointed President of the Michigan Economic Developers Association and reappointed to the International Economic Development Council board of directors

MARQUETTE, MI —  Michigan Economic Developers Association (MEDA) recently appointed Amy Clickner, Chief Executive Officer, Lake Superior Community Partnership, to President of their Board of Directors. She has also been reappointed to the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) board of directors.

Clickner has worked for the LSCP since the organization's inception in 1998, was the first full time employee and first CEO. She is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) through IEDC and a Certified Fundraising Manager (CFM) through the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.
