The LSCP Marketing Team has been planning our second largest fundraiser of the year. We know there are many golf outings over the course of the summer and are thankful our partners and the community continue to support ours. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000, which will go directly toward the economic development services that we provide Marquette County.

With the hustle and bustle of the Lake Superior Community Partnership (LSCP) graduation season, I’d like to take some time to dedicate today’s column to all of the people graduating from programs under the LSCP umbrella in April and May.

What a week! The Marquette County Ambassadors completed their spring trip to Lansing which included two full days of meetings with the Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Department Heads and elected officials. The group of 25 community leaders from Marquette, Baraga and Dickinson counties were able to share important issues to our region, offer potential solutions and say thank you for the various supports they have provided.

Well, it’s that time of year again for us to release our 2018 year-end results! We did so at our Annual Meeting on Northern Michigan University’s campus March 12. This was an opportunity for our stakeholders to come together to hear what we have been up to over the past year, as well as celebrate businesses who have added new jobs. It is these investments from businesses that drive the local economy.
