The Impact of Term Limits in Michigan

Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville speaks with Cheryl and discusses term limits in Michigan. In January of 2011, Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville began his second term in the Michigan Senate as leader of a 26-member Senate Republican supermajority. Cheryl and the Senator cover various topics such as Michigan imposing the most restrictive term limits such as lifetime bands and shorter terms, the political process impacted by the shortened tenure and resulting heightened turnover, and the senate leader's goal to lengthen the total service for legislators. The Senator requests that association leaders support the legislation and inform their members on this important topic.
