Now that we’ve said goodbye to the first month of 2024, I wanted to remind you of the ways my office can serve you. I also have some exciting news about how we’ve expanded our constituent services team.
As a refresher, the constituent services team is here to assist people who are struggling with a federal agency responsible for providing benefits or services like passports and visas, Social Security or veterans benefits, or any other federal program or service.
Last year, they returned nearly $12 million to constituents through our casework – which is a huge feat that highlights their years of experience and a passion for helping Michiganders get the most out of their government.
Beginning this year, we’ve expanded our constituent services team to another focus area: grant assistance. We now have a team member available specifically for connecting local municipalities, schools and places of worship with federal grant opportunities.
The federal grant landscape is ever-evolving and can be difficult to navigate, so we’re eager to be able to expand on this assistance for constituents. Please call us at (517) 993-0510 if you would like assistance or more information on grant opportunities.
For general assistance with a federal agency, the best way to start the process is by completing a privacy release form through our website. Completing the form allows us to work with federal agencies and exchange details of a constituent’s case while complying with federal privacy laws.
We can also assist with requesting D.C. tours and tickets, receiving a milestone birthday or anniversary greeting, or requesting that a flag be flown over the U.S. Capitol.
Visit https://slotkin.house.gov/ for more information, and we look forward to continuing to deliver for constituents in 2024.
