Bay Future, Inc. Awards $1 Million+ to Bay County Small Businesses
Michigan Small Business Restart Program

Bay Future, Inc. along with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation are announcing that 150 Bay County small businesses and nonprofits are receiving over $1.1 million dollars through the Michigan Small Business Restart Program.
Funding is provided to eligible small businesses (50 employees or less) that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and need working capital to support payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utility expenses or other similar expenses. At least 30% of the funds was required to be awarded to women-owned, minority-owned or veteran-owned eligible businesses.
In Bay County, 65% of the total funding for small businesses was awarded to women, minority, and veteran-owned small businesses who self selected in the following categories:
- More than one category (women, minority, veteran-owned) = 7%
- Women-owned businesses = 43%
- Minority-owned businesses = 11%
- Veteran-owned businesses = 5%
