One of the core tenets to our economic development strategy at Bay Future, Inc. (BFI) is to not only retain businesses in our community but to help attract them, as well. Through that effort, businesses of all shapes, are choosing to call Bay County, Michigan “home” as they select a new location and as they choose to expand their businesses here.
Our team is constantly meeting with business owners who express interest in growing the physical foot print of their current location or who need assistance finding a new building or property in which to grow from. These business vary across industries, size, and scope. From those we as community members like to frequent daily or weekly, maybe for a cookie or treat, to larger industries that provide employment opportunities with good paying jobs to our friends, family, and neighbors.
A great example is Aviator Cookie Company who our BFI team worked with to find a second location on Wilder Rd. in Bay City. Owner and Founder, Chris Welch, started the business in Downtown Midland after COVID grounded him for nine months – yes he’s an actual aviator- he took the chance to pursue his passion of baking and owning a small business. This year, Chris saw an opportunity to grow his business in Bay County and is currently working on the construction of his new location at 4072 Wilder Rd, Bay City. We’re anticipating his opening later this Fall!
Our team also had the opportunity to assist LoLoBee’s Lounge on finding a new location! You can read more about this business in Route Bay City.
We’re excited about the growth of small businesses as it adds to the local quality of life we love about our community! If you keep scrolling today, you’ll see more about another business we’re assisting in bringing to Bay County. While we can’t share with you the name of the business at this time, we know the construction alone is bringing a lot of excitement, jobs, and investment to our community!
